The South Tongu Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly defended the Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations, Hon. Stan X. Dogbe, following public discussions surrounding an incident that occurred during the recent graduation ceremony at the Ghana Military Academy.

In a press release dated 31 January 2026, the constituency expressed concern over what it described as deliberate attempts by communicators of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to misrepresent events involving Hon. Dogbe and a military photographer at the ceremony.

According to the statement, the incident occurred when a military photographer repeatedly disrupted the operations of a live camera crew covering activities relating to His Excellency, the President. Hon. Dogbe’s intervention, the release explained, was solely intended to ensure the smooth flow and orderly execution of the high-level presidential event. While the outcome was described as unfortunate, the constituency emphasized that the effect was unintended and driven by duty rather than malice.

The South Tongu NDC further highlighted that Hon. Dogbe apologised moments after the incident, demonstrating humility, accountability, and leadership—qualities they say define his public service record.

Describing Hon. Dogbe as “the personification of excellence, order, and professionalism,” the statement underscored the critical nature of the Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations) role, which it referred to as the “engine room of the presidency.” The office, it noted, requires firmness, decisiveness, and the ability to make difficult choices to maintain efficiency and discipline at the highest level of governance.

“Very few individuals possess the temperament, stature, and competence required to effectively manage such a sensitive portfolio,” the statement read, adding that Hon. Dogbe consistently upholds the highest standards in the discharge of his duties. The constituency credited him for the quality, organisation, and orderliness that characterise presidential events under his supervision.

Drawing on a traditional proverb, the statement acknowledged that individuals who work closely with complex systems and high-pressure environments may occasionally encounter challenges. However, it stressed that such realities should not overshadow years of dedicated service and proven professionalism.

The constituency praised Hon. Dogbe’s response to the incident, noting that beyond the apology, he called for improved collaboration among stakeholders involved in executing national events—a move they described as reflective of true leadership.

On behalf of the South Tongu Constituency Executive Committee, led by Chairman Michael Tsikudo, and the people of South Tongu, the statement reaffirmed their unwavering support for Hon. Stan X. Dogbe. They commended his continued delivery of what they termed “signature masterstroke organisational and planning excellence” at the presidency.

The statement was signed by Dr. Lawer Egbenya, Constituency Secretary of the South Tongu NDC.
