The District Chief Executive for Central Tongu, Hon. Addison Dodzi Mornyuie, has successfully conducted the 2026 Central Tongu District Competitive Common Examination across all 12 circuit centres in the district, reaffirming his administration’s strong commitment to improving educational standards.
A total of 175 schools, comprising 98 Primary Schools and 77 Junior High Schools participated in the examination, writing in English, Mathematics, and Science. The exercise was smoothly coordinated and executed across all centres, reflecting effective supervision and careful planning.
Addressing stakeholders after monitoring the examination, Hon. Addison Dodzi Mornyuie emphasized that education remains the bedrock of development in Central Tongu. He stated, “We are determined to build a district where academic excellence is not an exception but the standard. This competitive examination is part of our strategy to motivate our pupils, identify talents early, and raise performance across all schools.”
The Member of Parliament,
Hon. Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze, who collaborated closely with the District Assembly on the initiative, also underscored the importance of sustained investment in education. He encouraged pupils to take their studies seriously, noting that “discipline, hard work, and consistency are the keys to academic and future success.” He further assured schools of continued support to enhance teaching and learning across the constituency.
In the coming days, examiners will thoroughly mark and audit all scripts to ensure fairness and credibility. Thereafter, three champions from each circuit, at each level and in each subject, will be announced and recognized. These selected pupils will then compete at the district level to determine the ultimate champions in each subject and at each level.
Hon. Addison Dodzi Mornyuie expressed appreciation to Circuit Supervisors, Headteachers, Teachers, Pupils, and the Planning Committee for their dedication and professionalism in ensuring the success of the exercise.
Through such proactive educational interventions, the Central Tongu District Assembly continues to demonstrate visionary leadership in building a culture of excellence and shaping a stronger academic future for the district.
