The pilot phase of the National Apprenticeship Program (NAP) in Central Tongu was successfully rolled out today, with six (6) masters and forty-five (45) apprentices in fashion design, hairdressing, masonry, and welding receiving essential tools to strengthen their trades.
The items, which included industrial sewing machines, butterfly sewing machines, hair dryers, safety boots, earmuffs, and other vital equipment, were jointly presented by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Addison Dodzi Mornyuie, and the Honorable Member of Parliament, who both encouraged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity.

In an inspiring address, the MP urged the apprentices to take their training seriously, noting that “skills development is a pathway to sustainable livelihoods and a brighter future for our youth.” The DCE added, “This initiative is about more than tools; it is about equipping our young people with the means to create real economic opportunities and contribute meaningfully to their communities.”
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as a “life-changing moment” that would strengthen their trades and boost their confidence in pursuing careers in their respective fields.

The event underscores the commitment of Central Tongu leadership to youth empowerment, skills development, and entrepreneurship, reinforcing ongoing efforts to build a more prosperous and self-reliant constituency.
