Central Tongu DCE Addison Dodzi Mornyuie’s Stewardship and Accountability Report
Central Tongu, Ghana — The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Central Tongu, Hon. Addison Dodzi Mornyuie, has presented a comprehensive stewardship and accountability report, highlighting key achievements, strategic engagements, and progress made under his administration. The presentation, which brought together distinguished chiefs, honourable Assembly Members, development partners, and citizens, underscored the district’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive development.
Addressing the gathering at the District Town Hall Meeting held at the Old District Assembly Hall in Adidome on 5th November 2025, the DCE, Mornyuie, expressed profound gratitude for the collective support received from traditional leaders, institutions, religious bodies, and the general public. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to building a resilient, prosperous, and progressive district guided by the pillars of open governance, responsible stewardship, and development that leaves no one behind.
Strengthening Collaboration with Traditional Authorities
A significant part of the report focused on the role of traditional leadership in district development. DCE Mornyuie disclosed that his office held a series of consultative meetings with the Bakpa and Mafi Traditional Councils, aimed at:
- Strengthening collaboration between the government and traditional authorities
- Deepening cooperation on peace and development matters
- Aligning traditional leadership priorities with the district’s development agenda
He emphasized that traditional authorities remain central to maintaining social harmony and accelerating development initiatives across Central Tongu.
Enhanced Coordination with Institutional Heads
DCE Mornyuie highlighted strong inter-agency coordination as a key driver of improved service delivery in the district. He engaged Heads of major institutions, including:
- Ghana Police Service
- Ghana National Fire Service
- District Health Directorate
- Education Directorate
- Agriculture Department
These engagements focused on fostering synergy, facilitating timely interventions, and improving administrative efficiency to advance the district’s socio-economic development.
Promoting Unity Through Faith-Based Engagements
Recognizing the important role of religious institutions in community cohesion, DCE Mornyuie also held strategic engagements with Christian faith leaders to:
- Foster unity among churches
- Promote peace within communities
- Strengthen moral leadership
- Collaborate on social and community development programs
He commended the Christian Council and denominational leaders for their continuous partnership in promoting spiritual well-being and social progress.
District Town Hall Meeting: Engaging Citizens and Community Leaders
As part of his commitment to participatory governance, DCE Mornyuie in collaboration with the Member of Parliament Hon. Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze organized a District Town Hall Meeting at the Old District Assembly Hall, Adidome. The meeting provided a platform for citizens, institutions, and community leaders to engage directly with the DCE on the district’s progress, challenges, and plans for the future.
The open and productive dialogue covered key sectors including education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, security, and youth development, reaffirming the shared commitment to building a stronger and more inclusive district.
The event drew over 420 participants physically, while thousands more joined online. Notably, 10 students each from MAKSEC and ADISEC participated, gaining first-hand exposure to good governance and civic responsibility.
The meeting brought together a diverse cross-section of the Central Tongu community, including Traditional Authorities, Religious Leaders, Assembly Members, Market Women, Drivers, Okada Riders, Fisher Folks, Teachers, Youth Groups, Civil Society Organizations, and Heads of Institutions, all contributing meaningfully to the discussions.
DCE Mornyuie extended sincere appreciation to Hon. Member of Parliament Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze, program Chairman Togbe Kwasinyi Agyeman Kaklaklolo V, District Education Director, District Health Director, District Police Commander, Presiding Member, District Coordinating Director, Heads of Departments, and all who made the engagement a success.
